He may have been restricted to a single word on Game Of Thrones, but now that Hodor is off the show he’s got a lot more to say!
In a new interview with Huffington Post, Hodor actor Kristian Nairn admitted he too wasn’t too pleased with that Ed Sheeran cameo.

We’re sure he wasn’t bullying the poor singer as many trolls did following the season 7 premiere, but he was not into it.
In fact, he doesn’t like any of the cameos through the years, which include members of Coldplay, Of Monsters And Men, Mastodon, and the New York Mets:
“I’m not a fan of the cameos in Game of Thrones. I don’t like them. I think it’s stupid. I don’t mind going on the record on that. I just think it takes you right out of the world. Especially Ed Sheeran.”
Why was Ed so much worse? While there are some you might not even notice, Ed’s was a close up center frame.
And for a music aficionado like Nairn, who is also a DJ, the singer’s fame in particular was WAY too distracting:
“I was like, ‘Why is Ed Sheeran here?’ I mean, Ed Sheeran’s great. He’s a great guy, great musician, but why is he in Game of Thrones?
I’m not saying I’m not a fan of Ed Sheeran. I’m being tactful here, but just not a fan of the cameo. I think most people would agree with me there. It was a big snap to reality. It’s like, ‘What? What?'”
It’s a fantasy show. We’re all caught in this amazing world and spend so much time and money and talent to create, and all of a sudden there’s a pop star? What?”
True, but some people didn’t mind being taken out of the show for a moment — chief among them Ed superfan Maisie Williams, for whom the appearance was essentially a surprise gift from the production.
There was one musician cameo even Nairn will admit “got away with it”:
“Hodor.”
LOLz, nah we’re just playing! He actually said Sigur Rós, who flew under the radar as musicians at Joffrey’s wedding:
“They’re almost like Game of Thrones world in real life. They’re so elven and spiritual. I think that works, but apart from that — I mean, I understand why people want to be in it, but just no. Go away.”
