As we mentioned last month, Desperate Housewives actress Kathryn Joosten, who plays neighbor Mrs. McCluskey, was diagnosed with lung cancer.
She was actually first diagnosed back in 2001 with the same cancer, but was able to overcome it. Unfortunately, the cancer returned and at 69-years-old that’s not an easy thing to deal with.
But Joosten chose to stay optimistic and battle the cancer.
And yesterday morning, Joosten underwent surgery in Los Angeles to remove a cancerous growth on her lung.
Here’s the good news, according to her rep, the doctors believe that the cancer was well contained and the surgery turned out to be a success.
Her rep revealed, “She’s doing great. She’ll be in the hospital recovering for a few days. And she’ll need to go in for proactive CAT Scans every few months. But there will be no [need for] chemo, no radiation. She’ll be back to her feisty old self, chasing her old man down the street any day now.”
