This is absolutely heart-wrenching news.
Rhode Island authorities are reportedly searching for Brian Harnois, a former member of the reality series Ghost Hunters, as he went missing after he was said to have posted what many construed to be a suicide note on his Facebook page early yesterday morning.
Although the original message has been taken down, many others have begun spreading this alert across the internet as the search intensifies:
* * ENDANGERED MISSING * * Brian Harnois, former member of TAPS (Ghost Hunters) posted a goodbye/suicide note on his Facebook page this morning. He hasn’t been heard from since, his cellphone is off, and the people who know him best are worried about his well being. If you are in or know ANYONE in the Warwick, RI area, PLEASE REPOST this and share on their pages. The authorities are involved in the search, and anyone with information about where he might be, or when he was last seen or heard from today, please contact the Warwick, RI police department at (401) 468-4200
If Brian himself sees this – PLEASE think of those sweet little girls who love their daddy, and let someone know where you are.
While it’s unclear exactly what might have brought this on, the reality star’s wife, Michelle, has taken to Twitter to confirm her husband’s disappearance, and reveal that he walked out their family a week ago and she hasn’t heard from him since.
She writes:
Everyone please help us find Brian. His daughters and I as well as his family and friends are worried sick.

@tpgscott I don’t want him to feel worse at this point. He did abandon us but he’s in danger and I’m very worried.
— Michelle (@MichelleHarnois) December 10, 2012
@tpgscott not sure. He hasn’t contacted me in over a week

Thank you everyone spreading the word about Brian. Please continue to do so. There is misinformation going around. He is NOT found.

Obviously, this poor man is going through something that even those closest to him can’t understand, and we can only hope and pray that he’s able to find the strength to return to his wife and daughters.
All of his friends, family, and loved ones are in our thoughts during this impossible time.
Please return safely, Brian.
