Gigi Hadid is really upset with some of her fans, and she was NOT afraid to let them know!
After receiving some negative comments about a recent look she wore while stepping out in New York City, the supermodel fired back on Twitter, reminding them she’s not dressing for anyone’s approval!

So, what was the comment which set her off??
Well on Tuesday, a follower of hers tweeted a pic of the outfit, writing:
“she’s such a natural beauty… idk what happened to her iconic street style tho.”
The message has since been deleted, but another fan account also retweeted the photo, blaming Gigi’s stylist, Mimi Cuttrell. In a now-deleted tweet, they wrote:
“What happened is called Mimi.”
Ouch!!!
The 24-year-old had enough of the style-shaming at that point, choosing to take a few minutes to call out her supposed supporters for criticizing her. In one scathing tweet, she penned:
“U guys need to calm tf down sometimes. It’s called stepping out to do one errand- not dressing for your approval. Your unrealistic expectations & petty complaining all the time about my style or not being sexy enough isn’t going to make me dress differently.”
Clearly Gigi’s been listening to bestie Taylor Swift‘s single You Need to Calm Down!
But the social media star didn’t stop there! She continued to sound off on the problematic message her followers were sending:
“Not just talking about this specific moment. U all talk about empowering women. I support and empower women that show skin and that don’t. It’s about choice. I show skin when I want to and still feel sexy covered head to toe & will continue to do so. Over the snarky comments.”
Girl was not mincing her words!
Going further to defend her stylist AND her personal style, the celeb added:
“I like what I wear and wear it for that reason. It’s not about a stylist, it’s how I’m choosing to express myself. Your opinion isn’t going to change that. Those of you who feel this way should focus on your energy on praising those whose style u love. Peace.”
The outfit in question had Hadid dressed (pictured below) for warmth in a black puffer jacket, a striped sweatshirt from her Reebok X Gigi Hadid collection, black leggings, and sneakers.
The runway expert put her fans in her place!
