Edward Herrmann was 71 when he passed away Wednesday morning.
The actor, most notably recognized as patriarch Edward Gilmore on Gilmore Girls, lost his battle with brain cancer in a New York hospital.
According to his family, Herrmann was in ICU for nearly a month before they decided to take him off the respirator. Unfortunately, his illness never showed signs of improvement.
He leaves behind his three children and second wife Star. We wish them peace during this time of mourning.
