The Matthews family just got a bit bigger!
While Girl Meets World will still focus on Rowan Blanchard as Riley Matthews, Cory and Topanga will also have a son, Elliott Matthews!
Of course!
Where would Boy Meets World have been without his trouble-making, heartthrob of a brother Eric?!
Elliott has yet to be cast, but is described as follows:
” Elliott Matthews, 13. Cory and Topanga├óΓé¼Γäós son. This guy will start the series as a ‘thinking man├óΓé¼Γäós jock.’ He├óΓé¼Γäós described as ‘good looking, well built, funny and insightful in his observations. Good hearted except for his dedication toward using Riley (Blanchard) as his wrestling practice dummy. His parents worry that he has inherited the ├óΓé¼╦£Eric Matthews Algernon├óΓé¼Γäó gene and will lose intelligence as time goes by.’ That ‘Eric Matthews Algernon’ bit is a two-part reference to a character in the original series who got dumber as seasons passed and the classic novel with a similar theme, Flowers for Algernon.”
We’ll also meet a genius character similar Minkus and BFF for Riley!
But will we be seeing Eric and the rest of the old cast interact with the new spin off characters???
Executive producer Michael Jacobs said:
“Whoever wants to be part of this show will be and whoever wants to move on will. Will Friedle [who played Eric] said, ‘I will be at every taping.’ Everybody is quite attached to it. The bottom line is: Will Rider or Will be a cast member? Will they put in appearances? Maybe, maybe not. We’ll see.”
Oh my god.
They’re making this more suspenseful than the time Morgan gave Santa Claus a heart attack!
Thank the TV heavens they are going into production next month because we don’t know how much longer we can wait!!!
