Ricky Martin and Kristin Chenoweth will receive special honors for their efforts to promote equal rights and understanding of the LGBT community and this years GLAAD Media Awards.
Ricky will receive the Vito Russo Award for his bravely cha-chaing out of the closet.

“Ricky coming out was a game changer for many gay and transgender Latino children, who for too long, did not have many out gay people to look up to. Through his music, videos and interviews, Ricky has sent an important message that our community wants the same things all people do: an equal chance to raise our families and take care of our loved ones,├óΓé¼┬¥
said GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios.
Chenoweth will be honored with the Vanguard Award at GLAAD├óΓé¼Γäós Los Angeles event. The Tony winner stood up for the LGBT community last May, defending her Promises, Promises co-star, Sean Hayes, after a asshole Newsweek columnist wrote that gay actors ├óΓé¼┼ôcannot play straight roles.”
