Goldie Hawn is spilling on her relationship with Kurt Russell!
At the 92nd Street Y in New York City on Wednesday, Kate Hudson’s mom opened up about her decades-long relationship with Kurt and why they’ve never tied the knot! And it’s actually SO sweet! The 80-year-old dished to Entertainment Weekly:
“We thought that by getting married that was actually going to take something from both of us that we didn’t want. We want to choose each other every day.”
Awww! That’s such a unique way to look at things! And SO sweet! She went on to talk about how neither she nor her Overboard co-star have ever been too keen on the idea of “ownership” in a relationship:
“I don’t like ownership, you know? And I must say that I think Kurt feels the same way. I think that’s one of the areas where we all have to feel free to be who we are, and think the way we do, and for those of us who are, basically, want to have a happy life, I think you want to be happy with yourself.”
We love how much passion and respect they have for one another! Not that marriage takes that away, but you can tell how much they value and cherish their dynamic. Loves it!

In January, Goldie revealed on the The Dan Buettner Podcast she still feels “very sexually attracted” to the Escape from New York actor:
“And that’s important. If you have a long-term sexual relationship, that’s actually really healthy. He’s my sexual object … I find him incredibly handsome to this day.”
Steamy! Ha!
Last month, she also talked about the “freedom” she feels with Kurt in an interview with People:
“When I say freedom, it means liberation. I don’t feel penned in. We don’t always agree on stuff, which is fine. We’re both very spontaneous. [Our relationship] fed on a lot of goodness, a lot of wonderful life together.”

Goldie and Kurt began dating in 1983 and welcomed son Wyatt together in 1986. Goldie is also mom to Kate and Oliver Hudson from a prior relationship, while Kurt is dad to Boston Russell from a previous relationship of his own.
