UPDATE 9:57 A.M. PST: Halle Bailey has requested sole legal and physical custody of her son, per docs obtained by People. She also asked that DDG not be allowed visitation with Halo — though she is asking a judge to give him supervised visits with a professional company once a week for six hours while their child is in LA.
Similarly, Halle asked the court to prevent her ex from taking Halo outside of the county of Los Angeles and requested an order to prevent child abduction, alleging that the rapper has a history of taking away or hiding the toddler from her (or threatening to do so) and not cooperating with her on parenting matters.
Additionally, she wants DDG to be banned from moving with their son without her written permission and for him to be ordered to turn in or not apply for passports or other important documents for the boy. If he does travel with Halo with her permission, she asked that he be required to provide his travel schedule, copies of round-trip plane tickets, addresses and phone numbers where they can be reached, and an open airline ticket for her if their son is not returned.

Halle Bailey has obtained a restraining order against her ex and baby daddy DDG.
The actress filed court papers for a temporary restraining order against the rapper on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, per legal papers obtained by People. In the request, she accused DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry, of verbal and physical abuse, claiming she fears for her own and her son Halo‘s safety because of her ex’s actions.

As Perezcious readers know, Halle and DDG started dating in 2022 but split in 2024, after welcoming their son in December 2023. In her upsetting filing, she claims she has suffered from DDG’s temper as recently as this past weekend! She reflected:
“I realize that there is no placating Darryl. I cannot allow this abuse any longer.”
The judge granted the domestic violence restraining order, which orders DDG to stay over 100 yards away from both Halle and Halo, including at Halo’s school and Halle’s car. Read on to hear the terrible instances of violence she’s allegedly endured and more details of her requests moving forward…

Physical Abuse
The Little Mermaid star accused the musician of several incidents of alleged abuse, including an incident in January 2025.
At the time, per TMZ, she says DDG came to pick up the 17-month-old when she tried to have a conversation with her ex about a child visitation schedule. As she was buckling the little boy into his car seat, the artist allegedly got angry, repeatedly saying:
“Get out of my car, BITCH.”
This caused Halo to start crying, which made her nervous to leave him in his father’s care. The co-parents allegedly then started wrestling, with DDG pulling her hair and slamming her face onto the steering wheel, chipping her tooth amid the fight.
The 25-year-old was left in pain and crying. While the fighting stopped, she stayed in the car for the ride to DDG’s house because she was still so concerned about leaving Halo. Once at DDG’s house, she told his fam what happened and left “hysterical” once they told her they’d take care of the child.
The alleged incident resulted in bruises on her arms and a chipped tooth, all of which she included photos of. See HERE. So awful.
Verbal Abuse & Custody Claims
Halle also accused DDG of verbally abusing her, often calling her “a bitch” and “evil” in front of Halo. And all of this is made worse when he enlists his fans to add to the frenzy. She noted:
“Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts badmouthing me to his several millions of fans.”
Referencing DDG’s public claims in early March that he has to “fight” to see his son, she argued:
“He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media. He seems to try to set up drama for his fans. He goes ‘live’ ranting about me and alleges that I am keeping Halo from him. This is false. I have requested a set schedule, which he refuses.”
Bedroom Break-In
The Color Purple alum also slammed her former boyfriend for totally creeping her out when he broke into her home back in March without her permission and texted her a photo of her empty bed, writing:
“now I know what u been on lol.”
WTF??
The singer took the text as an accusation that she was sleeping with other people. This seems to be a real insecurity of the Twitch livestreamer’s — we’ll get to more on that in a second.
Just four days after this creepy bedroom incident Halle says DDG went off on her when he came to her house to get Halo. She warned DDG that she and the baby were sick with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and that Halo couldn’t leave the home, but DDG entered her home anyway and began shouting obscene language at her. He allegedly even damaged her Ring camera — which she has video proof of — and attempted to take the little boy without her consent. Yikes.
It doesn’t sound like he got away with Halo, but he did run away with her phone and threw it out his car window while yelling, “GO GET IT BITCH.” Jeez. Halle filed a police report after this encounter.
Mother’s Day Drama
Now, back to that sleeping with other people comment. All of this drama hit a breaking point over the weekend while the Grown-ish alum was in St. Lucia with her sister Chloë Bailey for Mother’s Day.

DDG got it in his head that she was vacationing with singer Brent Faiyaz (above), and he texted her social media posts of those allegations. He then exploded on her, texting:
“u think u hurting my feelings when u really just ruining your own image. this is a terrible look. makes u look disgusting and evil”
He followed up with:
“enjoy your vacation. happy mother’s day. but just have the same energy when it’s my turn to have him
i’m on the same s**t”
i’m on the same s**t”She responded, per screenshots of the texts:
“Darryl, are u not tired of harassing me? you make up a new lie on me everyday.. i’m in st lucia having fun with shermay and chloe. not with any man out here. i wouldn’t do that, i have halo. i told ur mom i was gonna be with my sister last week.. please let me enjoy my mother’s day in peace. i hope you are okay and feel better soon.”
New Custody Arrangement
Halle has now asked the court to give her permission to have custody of Halo while she films a project in Italy for two months, starting on June 7. She detailed in her request:
“I have family and a nanny who will be traveling with me to care for Halo while I am working.”
Plus, she wants to make it very clear that DDG cannot continue to post about her or Halo online — actions she feels are putting their safety at risk:
“I also ask the Court to order Darryl to cease and desist from posting and/or streaming on any and all platforms about Halo and/or me, including but not limited to Youtube, Twitch, Tiktok, Instagram, and Twitter/X. He is a YouTube and Twitch Blogger and creates a fan frenzy by making false claims about me. This has caused me to feel afraid and victimized. His fans then threaten me. I am often scared for my life and Halo’s safety. #freehalo has become a slogan online.”
She’d also like the rapper to be ordered to attend a Batterer Intervention Program with the requirement to show proof he completed the 52-week program. A court hearing has been scheduled for June 4.
