Halle Berry has been rocking a short ‘do on and off since her first acting job, Living Dolls, but don’t even dare say that her trimmed locks are her trademark because she thinks that’s bull!
In a recent interview the Cloud Atlas star said:
“When I have my short, short hair, that├óΓé¼Γäós when I├óΓé¼Γäóm my best self. But hair doesn├óΓé¼Γäót define me. It├óΓé¼Γäós just an accessory that I get to wear, like a handbag or shoes.”
However, Halle also revealed she got her first acting gig because she didn’t look like everyone else, adding:
“I personally fought against that stereotype when I first started acting. I would go on acting auditions, and every black girl would have this long, curly hair, whether it was real or not. And I would go to these auditions and come back with nothing. So I had to somehow be different. I had short hair and that├óΓé¼Γäós why they chose me ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ because I was different and not like everyone else. It was the way I kind of rebelled against├óΓé¼┬ª the notion that you have to have long hair to be beautiful.”
Hmm, it sure does sound like Berry’s famous pixie cut has a little something to do with who she is now, but if she thinks otherwise, then hey, that’s her business!!
