Halsey may have moved on from ex Yungblud to a new relationship with Evan Peters, but she is still clearing things up from her breakup.
The singer and American Horror Story star were first linked in late September, just weeks after the musical artists had called it quits. Following the fledgling couple’s recent red carpet debut, the Grammy nominee is setting the record straight about her ex.

In a now-deleted tweet captured by a fan account, the Bad At Love songstress addressed her breakup with the British performer (below) on Monday:
“sometimes. people just break up. it doesn’t mean someone cheated or something bad happened or someone f**ked up. sometimes. it just happens. because life is constantly changing. and adults stay friends and move on.”
She added a second follow-up message, writing:
“now u know what u know ?”
Per an E! News source, the two parted ways in early September after almost a year together:
“It was sort of abrupt and it was Halsey’s decision to end the relationship. Halsey has been very busy with her work commitments and traveling a lot recently, and their relationship was getting rocky. She’s been very busy and focused on her career, which took more of a priority.”
While it’s unclear exactly what prompted her acknowledgment of the almost two-month-old split now, we can imagine it’s related to going public with her new beau as it appears things are going great with the two, who donned Sonny and Cher inspired looks for their Saturday appearance together (above).
As we previously reported, an insider shared some insight with E! News about the budding romance (below):
“Halsey has always been a huge fan of Evan’s. A friend connected them and they had also been chatting over social media before deciding to hang out. It’s still very new, but they are both interested in dating each other and hanging out.”
As for Evan’s romantic past, he was previously engaged to AHS costar Emma Roberts, but the pair called things off and split amicably back in March. Though they had allegedly still been on good terms following the breakup, it was reported they ignored each other while attending a recent party Halsey was also present for. Yikes!!
Guess things weren’t so amicable after all, even though Roberts has also moved on to Triple Frontier actor Garrett Hedlund.
