UPDATE! Lonely Fifth Grader Realizes He Actually Has 2 MILLION Friends! Including The Kalamazoo Wings!

lonely fifth grader realizes he has 2 million friends including the kalamazoo wings

This mom really went above and beyond! And it’s paying off really well!

Her son Colin, a fifth grader in Michigan, had originally told her he didn’t want a birthday party because he had no friends. The mother says the boy’s disability makes it hard for him to make friends, and the little one feels ostracized at school.

So she made a Facebook page for him called Happy Birthday Colin which has so far attracted two million likes! Proving this lil’ guy has way more friends than he thought!

The mom said:

“Because of Colin’s disabilities, social skills are not easy for him, and he often acts out in school, and the other kids don’t like him. He eats lunch alone in the office every day because no one will let him sit with them, and rather than force someone to be unhappy with his presence, he sits alone. So I thought, if I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words, that would be better than any birthday party.”

Well, the page touched a lot of people including members of the professional hockey team Kalamazoo Wings! Some of the players surprised Colin at a pizza joint where they made him an official member of their team for a day!

The team’s PR director said:

“Hearing his story, especially the part about lunch by himself, the guys wanted to eat with him.”

But the team took it one step further. They gave him a jersey, brought him to their night game, and had him drop the ceremonial puck in front of thousands of screaming fans!

The event SHOCKED Colin! The happy kid said:

“I was not expecting this. I knew we were going to the restaurant, but I was not expecting the rest.”

You deserve it, Colin! And so much more!

Here’s to making kids like Colin feel all the love in the world! No one should ever feel like they aren’t special, especially when it’s quite clear that Colin most definitely is one very special kid!
