Harrison Ford Reportedly Landed His Plane On The Wrong Runway -- Almost Hitting Another Aircraft! Get The Scary Deets!

Harrison Ford
Yikes!
Harrison Ford, who is a notable pilot (minus that crash back in 2015), was involved in a potentially-serious incident on Monday when he landed his single engine private plane on the wrong runway — right near a full passenger plane! Eek!
NBC News reports the actor mistakenly aimed for a taxiway at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, and passed over the top of an American Airlines 737 loaded with 110 passengers and a six-person crew.
The passenger plane was successfully able to take off for Dallas moments later.

Wow, that could’ve ended very badly!!!
The 74-year-old was heard on the air traffic control recording asking:

“Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?”

So scary!
Because landing on a taxiway is a violation of Federal Aviation Administration safety rules, the incident is under investigation.
The FAA said in a press statement:

“Air traffic controllers cleared the pilot of a single-engine Aviat Husky to land on Runway 20L at John Wayne Airport Monday afternoon. The pilot correctly read back the clearance. The pilot then landed on a taxiway that runs parallel to the runway, overflying a Boeing 737 that was holding short of the runway. The FAA is investigating this incident.”

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more — but we’re hearing punishment could range from anything from a simple warning letter to a suspension of Ford’s pilot’s license.
