Henry Selick has directed timeless animation films.
We know, we know.
Lots of people throw the word timeless around like it’s a baseball or something.
But we’re talking about serious timeless movies such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline & James And The Giant Peach.
So when Henry Selick says he’s creating a top secret “medium dark” stop-motion movie for Disney, you better bet your tushies our ears are perked and ready to listen to the man!
Check out what Selick said:

“It├óΓé¼Γäós an original story of mine. It won├óΓé¼Γäót come from totally left field, what I personally gravitate toward tends to be fantasy, medium dark — not too dark — fairy tales and sci fi. Stop-motion takes something on the page that├óΓé¼Γäós really dark and adds a little sweetness to it, a living toys realm.”

Selick also discuss working with the brain trust and head honchos over at Pixar such as John Lasseter and The Incredibles director Brad Bird. Of his work with the renowned team, he added:

“The first time, I thought, ├óΓé¼╦£Oh my God, I don├óΓé¼Γäót know if I can handle this, Why did John [Lasseter] agree to help me make my films?’ But then I found out it├óΓé¼Γäós that way with everybody, even their best filmmakers. When you see what they produce, it├óΓé¼Γäós like, ‘OK, [I] don├óΓé¼Γäót take any of it personally.’ They told me don├óΓé¼Γäót get caught up in eye candy. They said, ‘Let├óΓé¼Γäós try to make your story as clear as possible and give it as much heart as it deserves.’ ”

The film does not have an official release date, yet.
It is supposed to come out sometime in 2013, but Selick described that release date as “tentative.”
Maybe it’s better that we don’t know exactly when it’s coming out.
That way, we aren’t counting down the days until the movie finally does hit theaters!
You know what we’re saying?
