Sadly, it’s not often that you hear about young people doing nice things for their elders, but this makes up for the rest of them!
19-year-old senior Austin Dennison asked his great-grandmother Delores Dennison to be his date to prom at Parkway High School in Rockford, Ohio, and she said yes!
Her first prom EVER!
But getting her to say the three-lettered word wasn’t easy! Delores explained:
“He was so sweet and adamant about it. I asked him, ‘But are you sure that you wouldn’t like to take one of the young ladies who could get out there and do everything with you?’ He said no. ‘I want you.’ I couldn’t disappoint him – if I had to go on my hands and knees.”
Luckily, Delores was able to make it, and to kick off their evening, Austin took his great-grandma to dinner at Bob Evans, her favorite local eatery.
Then, they headed to prom where the couple was introduced to a standing ovation by all of the students there!
And since Delores’ husband Ed used to sing Frank Sinatra’s Dolores to Miz Dennison, Austin had them play it while they danced!
