Even more good news for American journalists Laura Ling (sister of Lisa Ling) and Euna Lee, who are currently imprisoned in North Korea for “committing hostile acts” against the country, as well as entering the communist nation “illegally.”
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is doing everything in her power for the country to grant Lee and Ling “amnesty” and be allowed to return to the States.
Said Clinton during a Q&A Friday morning: “The two journalists and their families have expressed great remorse for this incident, and I think everyone is very sorry that it happened. What we hope for now is that these two young women would be granted amnesty through the North Korean system and be allowed to return home to their families as soon as possible.”
Both reporters were sentenced to 12 years of “hard labor,” but are currently residing in a guest house in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang, where University of Georgia scholar Han Park has said the two women are “staying well.”
