So much for peace talks? Deborra-Lee Furness is working hard to get over the “pain” of her messy split from Hugh Jackman — and it means getting far, far away!
The Australian actress has been doing her best to take the high road after her divorce from The Greatest Showman lead — who she broke up with after nearly three decades of marriage in September 2023. Shortly after, it was revealed that Hugh had been having an alleged affair with his The Music Man co-star Sutton Foster, something that totally blindsided Deb! Brutal!

Now that the Deadpool & Wolverine star is moving full speed ahead with the Younger alum, Deb is doing everything she can to feel like herself again. An insider told Us Weekly on Thursday:
“Deb is currently rebuilding her life and taking a vacation to Bhutan to start fresh and get away from the pain. She’s relied on a strong support system of female friends. She also spends time with other women who’ve been through similar situations who offer her unwavering support.”
Good for her! She deserves a nice vacation after all of this, and we’re glad she has a solid inner circle to get her through this!
Last we heard, the exes were making plans to “reunite” to discuss co-parenting their adult kids, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19, with the hopes of getting on the same page for an amicable future for their family, an insider told New Idea earlier this month:
“They all live in New York and there will be holidays, birthdays, kids activities and, heaven forbid, some tough times. […] It’s going to be much more fun and easier if they’re all getting along.”
But now she’s headed to South Asia?? Maybe those peace talks didn’t go so well…
That said, we can’t blame Deb for getting away! This has had to have been so difficult! It’s hard enough dealing with a divorce after a 27-year marriage while also trying to co-parent. Adding the rumored affair is just awful!
No matter how messy this whole thing has been, it’s not stopping Hugh and Sutton (who has also divorced her husband Ted Griffin amid the cheating scandal) from continuing to go public with their romance. An insider compared the two relationships, adding:
“Ultimately, the differences in their outlooks on life played a major role in the breakdown of Hugh and Deb’s relationship. Sutton shared Hugh’s low-key nature and sophistication, which contributed to their instant connection.”
Hmm.
Surely, it couldn’t only have been their different “outlooks on life” that tore Hugh and Deborra-Lee apart. They were married for nearly 30 years! You’d think that would’ve caused problems way earlier on if it was such a big deal… Just saying!
