As many may have guessed, this was NOT just a delay. This project is in LIMBO!
We’re not talking about Sydney Sweeney‘s next box office hit — we’re talking about her calling off her wedding to fiancé Jonathan Davino! They’d already postponed their nuptials — which were originally planned for the spring of this year. But now it’s OFF off!
According to a new report in Us Weekly on Wednesday, the 27-year-old blonde bombshell and her 41-year-old beau have been going through a really rough time lately. An insider claimed:
“Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split… Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”
“Not fully split”? As in, not yet?? Yeah, that’s apparently just as bad as bad as it sounds. They even said “major issues”! Ouch!

Per the mag, a source explained that all the rocky relationship rumors we’ve been tracking for a while now were right on the money — and all the issues came to a head as the wedding approached:
“They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it. Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”
Damn! Weddings can definitely be stressful… but ultimately it’s all worth it if the person you’re with is the right one… right? The question is, what are the issues?? It can’t just be wedding planning!
No, it goes way deeper than that! The insider says:
“A lot of their issues stem from Sydney being extremely busy with work commitments. She doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship. Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together.”
Hold up!!!
Sooooo if we are to understand this correctly, one of the most famous movie stars of her entire generation is giving her attention to big-time (and very lucrative!) professional projects that absolutely won’t be around forever, and then what — Davino feels threatened by that or something?!?!
Bruh. She’s an icon! A legend! Just suck it up and take whatever quality time you can get with this girl!
The source then went on to double down on how Sydney’s closeness with her movie costars has created a “tough dynamic” for Jonathan at times:
“Things are also always tense between them when she is promoting a movie because she has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her costars. It’s a tough dynamic for Jonathan.”
That sounds like some major insecurity right there. We mean, who can blame a guy for getting insecure next to Glen Powell, right?? But this is about more than that one rumor.
This whole thing sounds like a story we’ve seen before, frankly. And to understand what we mean, you have to rewind. These two started dating in 2018. That was before Euphoria, even before Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. This girl was NOT famous. She was a 20-year-old actress on the rise… but she hadn’t risen yet.

So this guy comes along, he’s 34, he couldn’t be happier to date her then… but now that she’s a huge star, living her dream, it’s not good enough for him? He can’t be supportive?
Seems to us maybe he was happier dating an aspiring actress or something. Someone who had plenty of time for ol’ Jonny. Someone who was more focused on his needs than on putting iconic work out into the world! Her star rose, and he no longer got what he wanted.
