The tea is being spilled!
Rumors have been swirling about Hugh Jackman‘s relationship with Sutton Foster for weeks, with many claiming they’ve been having an affair for years despite both being married — and the Deadpool & Wolverine star’s ex-wife Deborra-lee Furness basically just confirmed it! On October 26, Instagram gossip blogger Tasha Lustig posted a video discussing Hugh and Sutton’s romance, saying:
“Do y’all remember when I told you this man was up to no good.”
She went on to say the actor had “blindsided” his partner of 27 years by “running off with a mistress” and that The Music Man co-stars were planning to do a “soft launch” of their new relationship soon.

Naturally, the video got tons of views as everyone’s been trying to figure out what happened. See it HERE. But do you want to hear the biggest shocker of all?! That video also received a “like” from Deb’s supposed private account, which is only visible to people she follows on the platform, per Us Weekly on Tuesday. OMG!!!
Just as telling, Deb’s pal Amanda de Cadenet spelled it all out in the comments, writing:
“You are on point with this one. My beloved friend Deb is about to have her glow up any moment fyi!”
Wow!!!
So, Hugh and Deborra-Lee’s divorce really was way messier than they made it seem at first! Oof!
As Perezcious readers know, Hugh and his ex announced their split in September 2023. They also met while working together on the Australian series Correlli, so we guess he likes falling for his leading ladies. Sutton only filed for divorce from her husband Ted Griffin on October 25 of this year (they share a daughter, Emily, 7). The performers were on Broadway from late 2021 to early 2023. According to Us Weekly sources, they are currently together after things turned romantic during The Music Man. A source close to Sutton dished:
“Sutton and Hugh’s relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb got divorced. A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people. Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap.”
They can’t be that “nice” and “great” if they both willingly cheated on their longtime partners. Just saying…
The insider insists the pair are still going strong, adding that “they are really happy now.” The actors were both super open about how close they got during the show’s run, but despite this, Deb didn’t suspect anything, an industry source shared:
“Deborra-lee was blindsided when she found out about the affair through the run of the show. It was apparently Broadway’s worst-kept secret, and Deborra-lee was the last to know.”
Damn. That sux.
Worse? Apparently, Hugh NEVER came clean about the affair. The industry confidant said, “He didn’t own up to it.” Really, man? Also, while Deborra-Lee wanted to save the marriage, he just continued things with his new girl. Jeez.
While one source told the outlet that the affair had already begun by April 2023, when Hugh gushed about his wife for their 27th wedding anniversary (shady as f**k, if so), another source said they didn’t hear about the romance until last November — after the divorce. Either way, it sure seems like an emotional affair was at least at play! The timing is just so sus.
As you can imagine, this whole situation has been heartbreaking for Deborra-Lee, who adopted two kids with Hugh throughout their relationship. A friend of the couple told the outlet:
“[For a] woman who’s been in a marriage for [27] years who then discovers her partner was unfaithful and isn’t trustworthy, it’s a pretty devastating life experience.”
That said, Deb’s been refraining from going public with her side of the story to protect her family, they added:
“I think many people were shocked [Hugh] could do this to her, especially as she’s the mother of his children, and they’ve navigated three decades of life together. A little respect may have been in order.”
But a source familiar with her added:
“[Deborra-lee] is a strong, resilient, creative woman.”
She’ll get her shine back! But it probably won’t be easy as she’ll have to deal with Hugh moving on so quickly. An insider from the theater world said the lovebirds are continuing to grow closer, sharing:
“They don’t live together because of their kids. But Sutton has told people on Broadway about the relationship. Everyone [there] has known about this for a long time.”
A resident at her NYC building has told other neighbors they’ve seen The Greatest Showman alum coming in and out. So, why don’t they just go public already? Well, optics. The source close to Sutton said:
“Hugh’s whole image is that he’s the nicest guy in Hollywood. So he doesn’t know what to do with this.”
