Earlier this year we mentioned that the execs of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire were planning on bringing the show back to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
However, nothing had been confirmed, especially considering that Regis Philbin hadn’t agreed to host yet. You know, cuz apparently Meredith Viera isn’t good enough.
But, good news for all of you Millionaire fanatics, the show will be returning! And Philbin has agreed to comeback and host the two week special block of shows airing in August.
And we’re sure the success of Slumdog Millionaire probably helped secure the return of the show this summer.
However, even though the show is coming back for a short period of time, there are currently no plans to bring the series back on a regular basis. Unless, of course, the ratings bring in the big numbers!
ABC head Jeff Bader did add that ├óΓé¼┼ôRight now, it├óΓé¼Γäós to celebrate its 10th anniversary. If it works, I├óΓé¼Γäóm sure we├óΓé¼Γäód consider bringing it back again. Right now, we├óΓé¼Γäóre focused on this as an event.”
