Ivanka Trump's Surprise Visit To A High School Resulted In At Least One Student Being Taken Home By A Parent!

ivanka trump school visit goes badly
Now THIS is good parenting.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that at least one parent pulled their student out of Norwalk Early College Academy in Norwalk, CT when they learned that Ivanka Trump would be stopping by for a visit. Ummmmm, AH-Mazing.

The First Daughter’s planned visit was kept under wraps for “security” reasons, but many parents were still frustrated that they weren’t properly warned about the appearance.
One complainant told New Jersey’s News 12:

“This should have been brought to our attention, although I do understand security reasons. I think we should have had the choice to send our child to school or keep them home.”

Hear! Hear!
The school has since tried to downplay the controversy as Norwalk Public Schools Chief Communications Officer Brenda Williams made a statement to Fox News about the Trump meet-and-greet. She noted:

“Only one parent withdrew their student for the school day Monday after hearing of the visit. With the exception of those who were directly participating, the visit was kept confidential for security reasons, and parents understood that.”

Ivanka stopped by the Norwalk school in order to discuss the importance of career education — a platform she hopes will take at schools around the country. Donald Trump‘s daughter visited NECA as they utilize a program which allows students to earn an associate’s degree in software engineering alongside their high school diploma.
IBM CEO Ginni Rometty appeared at NECA next to Miz Trump, which makes sense since IBM developed the academic program used at the school.
Here’s hoping that, next time, the school gives parents enough warning about controversial visitors…
