Oh boy, Dr. Tohme Tohme is in for it now!
Wacko Jacko is being slammed with yet another lawsuit.
This time, Cameroonian singer Manu Dibango is suing for $643,000 in damages over an unlicensed sample.
Jackson already acknowledges the sample from Dibango’s 1972 Soul Makossa used in Wanna Be Startin’ Something off of Thriller. The artists came to a decision regarding that back in the 80s.
About 20 years later, Rihanna – in good faith – obtained Wacko’s permission to utilize the same sample in Please Don’t Stop The Music, without containing Dibango.
Dibango’s lawyers have asked the French courts to block Sony BMG, EMI and Warner from any income from the records until the matter is settled mid-February.
Jackson seriously needs some conservatorship!
