Jamie Foxx didn’t just talk about his health scare — the In Living Color alum had some jokes about the conspiracies surrounding it, too!
For over a year, we had no idea what mystery illness the actor suffered from that caused his hospitalization. That led to some wild rumors to start about what happened. One of the big ones? Diddy had a hand in it!

Producer Choke No Joke started the theory, claiming Jamie told the audience at his Netflix special Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was that the rapper “was responsible for what happened to him and he is the one who called the FBI on him.” He claimed in a video posted by Comedy Hype on YouTube in October:
“He caught Jamie filming allegedly or whatever. They told Jamie to chill, he didn’t chill, and allegedly Diddy and his security beat Jamie’s ass and that’s why Jamie was in the hospital. Allegedly, right? But then there’s the thing where they’re saying they gave him some type of pill or something that knocked him out, but it all was allegedly connected back to Diddy because something happened with Diddy and Jamie.”
When asked if Jamie was just “joking” at the time, Choke insisted he wasn’t. Whoa. Watch the interview (below) if you haven’t seen it yet:
That is a huge accusation to be throwing around, especially amid the music mogul’s sex trafficking and racketeering case! And not too hard to believe after the Kid Cudi attempted murder claims. Was the disgraced music mogul to blame for Jamie’s near-death experience, though? No. Not according to Jamie.
The Oscar winner revealed in the special that he suffered a “brain bleed that led to a stroke.” Yes, Mike Tyson was right all along. The actor did bring up Diddy’s name a few times during the show! However, it was only to crack jokes about the conspiracy theory! He wasn’t serious like Choke suggested!
At the beginning of the special, Jamie addressed the claims that Diddy tried to kill him, saying:
“The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that’s what the internet was saying. I know what you thinking, ‘Diddy?’ Hell no, I left them parties early. I was out by 9, something don’t look right. It’s slippery in here.”
The “parties” Jamie is referring to are the alleged freak-offs Diddy hosted. As you know, per the indictment, the Making the Band alum threw drug-and-alcohol-fueled sex parties, where he forced men and women to engage in non-consensual sex acts that often lasted for days and were recorded.
And that wasn’t the last joke about Diddy! While talking about how he was in “the tunnel” during surgery, he questioned whether he saw the “devil” or the 55-year-old record producer with a bottle of baby oil instead:
“Your life doesn’t flash before your face. It was kind of oddly peaceful. I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light. I was in that tunnel, though. It was hot in that tunnel. S**t, am I going to the wrong place in this motherf**ker? Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the devil like, ‘Come on.’ Or is that Puffy? I’m f**king around. But if it was Puffy, he had like a flaming bottle of Johnson & Johnson. I’m just kidding. ”
The “Johnson & Johnson” part is about when Diddy was arrested three months ago, an indictment revealed the feds seized over 1,000 bottles of baby oil from his home earlier this year. Attorney Ariel Mithcell-Kid claimed the baby oil was used as a “conduit” to administer the date rape drug GHB to make Diddy’s victims unable to consent to the freak-offs.
Oh damn! Maybe this routine isn’t for Cassie — who we’ve heard was hurt by all the baby oil jokes online. Watch some clips from the special (below):
