Jamie Foxx Breaks Down In Tears During Netflix Special As He FINALLY Reveals What Led To His Hospitalization!

We finally know what led to Jamie Foxx’s hospitalization.

As Perezcious readers know, the 56-year-old actor ended up in the hospital in April 2023 due to a medical emergency while filming in Atlanta for the movie Back in Action. It was unknown what he was suffering from then. Some details about the situation have come out since then. And, of course, there have been plenty of theories, including everything from a stroke to Diddy being responsible. Now, he’s revealing what happened more than a year later — and he got very emotional while doing so!

Breaking down in tears, the Academy Award winner explained during his Netflix comedy special Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was… that it all began with a “bad headache” on April 11, 2023. He asked his friend for an Aspirin. But before he could even take the pain medication, he “went out” and didn’t “remember” the next “20 days” from there. Whoa. What Jamie knows about the medical scare is from what he was told by loved ones afterward. According to the Ray star, he was taken to a doctor in Georgia who gave him a cortisone shot and just sent him home:

“What the f**k is that? I don’t know if you can do Yelps for doctors, but that’s half a star.”

LOLz!

However, his sister Deidra Dixon knew something was wrong with him and that he needed more medical treatment than just a cortisone shot. She then took him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. It was there Jamie said the doctors informed Deidra of the “horrible news” that he was suffering from a “brain bleed that led to a stroke.” Wait, so Mike Tyson was right? He did have a stroke! OMG! The singer continued:

“He’s having a brain bleed that has led to a stroke. If I don’t go in his head right now, we’re going to lose him.’”

And it sounds like they almost lost him for a moment. Jamie recalled that during the operation, he didn’t “see the light” but “saw the tunnel,” and remembered it was “oddly peaceful.” But at the time same time, he said that “it was hot in that tunnel,” joking:

“S**t, am I going to the wrong place in this motherf**ker? Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the devil like, ‘Come on.’ Or was that Puffy?”

Jeez. For those who don’t know, Puffy is one of the many nicknames for Diddy, who is currently in jail after being arrested for sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. Getting serious again, Jamie went on to say the doctors let Diedra know that after surgery:

“We didn’t find where it was coming from, but he is having a stroke. He may be able to make a full recovery, but it’s going to be the worst year of his life.”

When Jamie “woke up” 20 days later on May 4, he was surprised to find himself in a wheelchair. At first, the In Living Color alum thought it was “a f**king prank,” adding:
