The Call on Me singer has been in the news for all the wrong reasons over the past few days. Over the weekend, she sat down for an interview with The Guardian, during which she perpetuated a harmful right-wing conspiracy theory about presidential candidate Kamala Harris. She told the outlet:

“Well, you know what they supposedly said? She’s not Black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian … Her father’s white. That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”

That’s, of course, categorically false, as her father Donald J. Harris is Jamaican. But Janet hasn’t done much to come back from the controversy so far. And is it because her brother Randy Jackson is mismanaging her???

On Monday, multiple insiders spoke to Page Six about the ongoing PR disaster Janet stirred up in the wake of her already-infamous interview — especially since she’s been known to empower marginalized groups! One source pondered:

“How can she sing about Rhythm Nation and make comments like that? It doesn’t even sound like her. She’s so methodical. I don’t know what made her do this.”

Seriously!

The source went on to explain that the 58-year-old lives in London and “doesn’t really watch the news anymore. She does live in a bubble.” So much so that she didn’t even find out about all the backlash until she was off partying in Paris, according to the outlet. Another insider dished:

“Janet and Randy’s attitude was to just let it blow over. They weren’t planning to address it.”

We don’t know how great of a plan that is…

After all, the controversy certainly hasn’t even come close to blowing over yet! And according to the outlet, Janet’s circle believes the fallout from this controversy could be worse than her infamous Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction with Justin Timberlake!

As we know, a man named Mo Elmasri falsely claimed to be Janet’s manager and apologized on her behalf at first. But his statement was later revealed to not have been authorized by the pop singer. And apparently, Janet’s friends don’t even know who the dude is!! A source told the outlet:

“No one [in her camp] knows who he is! It’s completely out of the blue. No one has ever heard of this guy, not any breath of him.”

So bizarre…

Another source told Page Six that they’ve “never heard of this guy’s name in my life,” and suspects “Randy brought him on.” And said source definitely doesn’t seem happy with the way Randy has been managing Janet’s career, either! They argued:

“[Randy’s] sabotaging her legacy because he’s not savvy. She’s giving Randy control, and no one understands how he’s managing her, when he’s never had a career. She pays for everything.”

Well, the inexperience is certainly speaking volumes right now as there’s still been no (legit) official statement amid all the controversy! And they apparently don’t plan to say anything for a while longer as they continue to mourn the loss of their brother Tito, according to a source.

The insider also noted that Janet listens to Randy, who is a “Trump supporter and conspiracy theorist.” Uh-oh! They said:

“Janet’s bubble is small, and she listens to Randy. She does peddle in conspiracy theories.”

Oh, no…

In her interview with The Guardian, Michael Jackson’s little sister also spoke about new music, too. She’d announced her Black Diamond album before COVID, but never released it. Regarding that, she told the outlet:

“I feel so badly about that … I have recorded a lot of music. A lot of music that’s just sitting on the shelf. I went to my brother [Randy] … and I think, I think he’s just waiting for the opportune time.”
