'I Was In A Cult': See Why Some January 6 Rioters Are REJECTING Trump's Pardon!

Several Trump Supporters Say They’re Suffering From Mysterious Eye Injuries After Arizona Rally!

In a surprising plot twist, some of Donald Trump‘s most diehard supporters are turning against him!

We all remember January 6, 2021, when riots broke out at the US Capitol amid false theories that the election had been stolen from Trump. Well, in his first days in office again, the businessman-turned-politician chose to pardon over 1,500 people accused or convicted of taking part in the riot. However, at least two people are REJECTING the offer!

First, Jason Riddle told ABC News that he does not want to forget what he did. The New Hampshire resident admitted to drinking stolen wine and taking a book on Senate procedure from the Capitol during the attack, and he was sentenced to 90 days in jail for two misdemeanor offenses.

At the time of the attack, he said he was an “obsessor” of the Republican and dealing with an alcohol addiction — something his probation helped him recover from by forcing him to attend treatment. Grateful for this, he told the outlet on Wednesday:

“It is thanks to those consequences I now have a happy and fruitful existence.”

He even had a few choice words for Trump, adding:

“I don’t need to obsess over a narcissistic bully to feel better about myself. Trump can shove his pardon up his ass.”

Whoa!

Similarly, Pamela Hemphill, AKA “MAGA Granny,” also wants nothing to do with the pardon. The 71-year-old filmed herself on camera at the attack pushing past police barriers and rallying others to enter the Capitol. She served two months in federal prison and was sentenced to three years of probation and had to pay a $500 fine. She told KGW8 on Tuesday:

“The message is, if I took a pardon, that what I did that day was OK. They were criminals. They broke the law. I broke the law. Pay the price.”

She also told the New York Times that she truly believed that the election had been stolen, but now has an entirely new outlook on that chapter of her life, saying:

“Now I know it was a cult, and I was in a cult.”

She told the Idaho Statesman on Wednesday:

“We are not victims, we were volunteers. […] Nobody went up to them with a gun to their head and said, ‘You’re going to go break a window. You’re going to go destroy property. You’re going to push an officer.’ They had a choice.”

She furthered:

“I got my critical thinking back and started doing my own research, which I’m guilty of not doing back then because they gaslight you so much. It’s really weird when you come out of a cult. It’s like you look back and you go, what was I thinking?”

Interestingly, it seems like she had a change of heart pretty quickly after the incident. She said that it was a convo she had with folks on X (Twitter) that changed her mind. She was speaking with others who were at the Capitol on Jan 6th and quickly began questioning their motives, she mused:

“They started talking about supporting people that had actually been violent, and I wasn’t happy about that. I thought we were going to stand up for anything that was government overreach or something like that, not people that are in jail for harming officers.”

She also told the outlet that accepting a pardon “would be an insult to the Capitol Police officers [and] to the rule of law, to our nation.” She explained:

“The J6 criminals are trying to rewrite history by saying that it was not a riot; it wasn’t an insurrection. I don’t want to be a part of their trying to rewrite what happened that day.”

She and her attorney have filed a letter of rejection… but can you just reject a pardon?? It’s actually not so easy.

Back in 1833, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in U.S. v. Wilson that a presidential pardon may “be rejected by the person to whom it is tendered.” THAT SAID, just last year, two prisoners who had their death sentences reduced by President Joe Biden asked to stop the order because they were worried it would mess up their appeals process. Despite rejecting the pardon, a judge sided with the Prez. So, we’ll see.

The hopeful takeaway here is that some people who were caught up in MAGA have actually changed their ways — so it is possible to deprogram oneself from the brainwashing. If only more felt the same.

Unfortunately, there are others who have been pardoned who are only making more violent threats. Jacob Angeli-Chansley, the infamous “QAnon Shaman”, tweeted that thanks to Trump letting him out, he is “GONNA BUY SOME MOTHA F**KIN GUNS!!!” So yeah… Not everyone is going to learn a lesson here.

Thoughts?? Let’s hear ‘em (below).
