Jared Leto Gets Heckled & Told He Doesn’t Deserve An Oscar...Because He Played Transgender!

Jared Leto was AH-Mazing in Dallas Buyers Club!
There. We said it!
And rightfully so, he’s been cleaning up this awards season, winning himself trophies left and right!
Including a Santa Barbara International Film Festival award last night!
But before Jared could accept the honor, a member of the audience at the ceremony yelled out that he didn’t deserve ANY accolades for his portrayal of Rayon!
What the wha?!? Why the heck not?
According to the heckler, a man has no business playing a transgender person in film!
Witnesses say a person seated near the front row shouted out:

“You don├óΓé¼Γäót deserve an award! Trans misogyny does not deserve an award!├óΓé¼┬¥

Jared immediately stopped and spoke to the heckler, who many say appeared to be transgendered herself, asking why she felt that way. She responded:

“You├óΓé¼Γäóre a man! You shouldn├óΓé¼Γäót play a transgendered role!├óΓé¼┬¥

But proving how quick Jared is on his feet, he calmly responded back that by that logic, people who are gay could never play straight roles on TV and movies and vice versa!
Jared explained:

“You├óΓé¼Γäóve made sure that people who are gay, that the Rayons of this world, should never be able to turn the tables.├óΓé¼┬¥

His retort received an eruption of applause from the audience.
Jared then had the decency to invite the heckler backstage after the ceremony to continue their conversation!
How cool is this guy?!
We understand the point this heckler was trying to make. The struggle that transgender actors are up against isn’t made any easier when a part like Jared├óΓé¼Γäós goes to a non-trans person.
But Jared is so right – if we categorize actors based on their sexual orientation, gender, race, etc., we├óΓé¼Γäóll be moving backwards, not forwards.
You indeed deserve ALL of the awards you’ve won so far, Mr. Leto! And should you win another on Oscar night, we’ll be the first to stand up and cheer a job well done!
