Jason Kelce Reveals Travis Was Super 'Cautious' When Talking About Taylor Swift Romance In Early Days - Even With Him!

Travis Kelce kept things tight-lipped when he was just starting to get to know Taylor Swift — even when around his own family!

On Tuesday’s episode of The Pivot Podcast, retired NFL star Jason Kelce opened up about his younger brother’s high-profile relationship. Reflecting on the earliest days of the Tayvis romance, Jason pointed out:

“There was a lead-up to it, because there was the whole thing on the pod about him trying to get a friendship bracelet to her, so I knew that there was something.”

As Perezcious readers will recall, in July 2023, the athlete took to his New Heights podcast to gush about his failed attempt at shooting his shot with the Anti-Hero artist, who he was crushing on hard! Trav didn’t hold back when telling the story of how he wanted to gift Taylor a friendship bracelet with his digits on it, but had been unable to see her after her Eras Tour performance.

He was very honest about it, so you’d think he would have been just as open with his bro (at least in private) when he finally started going out with his celeb crush, right?! But it turns out that Travis was SUPER secretive about it, even with his inner circle! Jason dished:

“I think he was very cautious about even telling me or anybody.”

But the former Philadelphia Eagles player totally understood where this hesitation was coming from! He added:

“Because the reality is, [Swift] is under such a microscope. I think that they wanted to make sure everything was done in a way that was respectful to peoples’ privacy. And I think they’re still trying to do that. And, like, even now, I want to be respectful of them. And I don’t want anybody to feel like I’m violating some type of private relationship, right?”

And on that note, Jason concluded:

“It’s really not my place to speak on their relationship. But he is my brother and I’m very happy for him. And you, you know, just have to be conscious of how you are saying things because it is under such a microscope.”

Honestly, the level of respect this whole family gives the pop star is incredible! They have found the perfect balance of openness and privacy so that it never feels like TayTay’s in hiding, but they aren’t giving away all the sweet deets of their personal lives, either. So refreshing! And a big change to how things used to be for her!
