Jennifer Affleck is getting real about a “challenging” time in her life.
As you may recall, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star has been very open lately about her mental health. In December, she shared that she stepped back from social media as it had been hard “to get out of bed on most days.” Oh no. When Jen revealed her third pregnancy last month, this had been her “toughest” one because the backlash from Season 1 hurt her mental health and marriage with Zac. Oof.

Now, Jen is on a healing journey. On Monday, the content creator took to Instagram Stories to reveal she went to a wellness retreat for 11 days to work through “trauma” amid her pregnancy. She wrote in the post:
“Spent 11 days away from my loved ones, focusing on healing and working through my trauma. It was definitely one of the most challenging and impactful experiences I’ve ever had.”

Despite how hard it was, Jen shared that this is what she “needed” in the long run:
“Not the pregnancy journey I expected, but definitely what baby and I needed.”

Mental health is so important! We’re glad Jen took time for herself to process what she was going through! The reality star went on to share a peek into the “moments of processing, learning, pain and healing” during her time at the retreat. This included going to counseling sessions and yoga classes or spending time with horses and painting. She also shared a picture she created of an open field after one of her “most difficult trauma sessions,” adding:
“It’s not every day you have the chance to be surrounded by professionals and mentors who dedicate their time to support you. I am truly grateful for everyone who made this possible.”
