jenn mcallister exclusive
Are you familiar with YouTube powerhouse Jenn McAllister?? No.
Don’t worry, you will be!
This digital media star is an industry pro at only 19-years-old — but how you might ask?!
Well, the Streamys-nominated starlet launched her channel jennxpenn when she was 12-years-old and built a phenomenal following since! AWESOME!

And with her new book, Really Professional Internet Person, under her belt and another secret project she isn’t able to discuss in detail — who can really deny that her star is on the rise!
In regards to her book, she shared:

“I’ve always wanted to write a book for as long as I can remember because writing has always been a passion of mine. ├óΓé¼┬ª My journey was a lot different because I started Youtube in middle school and I did it all throughout High School. So I really talk a lot about what’s it like to be a Youtuber in school and how I went through different things like bullying — I really wanted to put that out there and inspire other people with my story.”

FIERCE! You may be cautious about taking advice from a teenager, but you’d be surprised at the insight this entrepreneur can dish out for fans of any age.
She continued:

“I think the big overall message behind it is that you can do whatever you want to do — and just stick to it as long as you’re really, really passionate about it and don’t let anyone stop you.”

LOVES it! Nonetheless, being out of high school not too long herself — it’s not shocking that she can relate to her younger fans who currently struggle with bullies in school.
She relayed:

“I think it is really, really important that everyone knows that — basically everyone who’s bullying someone does it for attention and to not give them that attention that they need. High school is so small compared to the rest of the world, and once you’re finished with high school all that stuff stops.”

Well said! We’re not sure what we’re more impressed with — her creative spirit or her resilient nature.
For someone who’s been making videos since her youth, Jenn is not easily embarrassed. When asked if she ever regretted any of her videos, she revealed:

“The only thing I could think of are older videos that are embarrassing now because I was so young. Umm, but at the same time I really like that because it’s kind of like a time capsule.”

We never thought of it that way. AH-Mazing!
At the end of the day, she’s still just a typical teenager who loves Taylor Swift! In fact, she even chose the Blank Space singer as the celebrity whose Twitter account she’d like to take over for a day. Is there a way we can make this happen?? LOLz!
Still, Miz McAllister surprisingly has to deal with crazy rumors that traditional celebrities in Hollywood have to deal with everyday.
She laughed:

“Everyone’s always making up random things. The funniest rumor that someone started about me was that I was in the Illumanti. There was rumors that I’ve died before. I get a lot of rumors about people that I’m dating — but I’m not dating anyone at the moment.”

That’s HIGHlarious! Even with over 2 million subscribers and countless years of experience, the online maven still finds inspiration among her peers.
She noted:

“I really want to work with Shane Dawson on something because he’s always been a huge inspiration to me and he’s really funny and a great guy. I think we could come up with something really funny.”

In case you forgot, Shane is the YouTuber that emotionally came out as bisexual earlier this summer to his 6.7 million subscribers. Whoa.
Jenn expressed:

“There’s definitely a lot people in the world who are probably going through the same thing as him — there are Youtubers that came out as gay, but not necessarily as bisexual, so I think it’s definitely a great thing. It’s a big inspiration for other kids around the world, I’m sure.”

We agree wholeheartedly!
Though Jenn may be missing the 5th Annual Streamy Awards due to her CAH-Razy schedule, you can ch-ch-check out the live show on TV (for the first time EVER) on VH1 and its digital platforms this Thursday, September 17 at 10 p.m. E.T./P.T.
