With the 25th anniversary of Friends coming up this fall, something on Ellen DeGeneres‘ mind is a reunion… but Jennifer Aniston doesn’t seem so sure!
While appearing on the daytime TV show, the longtime host simply said: “Do a Friends reunion, OK?,” to which the actress laughed and replied “OK.”

Her response was met with excited cheers from the audience, to which Jen elaborated:
“Listen, I’ve told you this, I would do it. The girls would do it. And the boys would do it, I’m sure… Anything could happen.”
Obviously, it’s not just up to the Rachel Green portrayer whether or not a revival of the iconic series would ever happen, she has to consider her five costars – Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer.

Despite Jen being on board for a the potential reboot, series co-creator and executive producer Marta Kauffman adamantly shared with Rolling Stone in March that a reunion isn’t in the works:
“There are several reasons. One, the show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family. It’s not that time anymore. All we’d be doing is putting those six actors back together, but the heart of the show would be gone. Two, I don’t know what good it does us. The show is doing just fine, people love it. (A reunion) could only disappoint.”
And unfortunately, Kauffman isn’t the only one who thinks it just wouldn’t work out if they got the gang back together. In January 2018, Mr. Schwimmer said in an interview with Megyn Kelly when asked about the potential of a reunion:
“I doubt it—I really doubt it. Look, the thing is, I just don’t know if I want to see all of us with crutches [and] walkers.”
Miz Kudrow feels similarly, sharing with Conan O’Brien in January 2018:
“They’re rebooting everything. I don’t know how that works with Friends, though. That was about people in their twenties, thirties. The show isn’t about people in their forties, fifties. And if we have the same problems, that’s just sad.”
For now, it seems we’ll just have to settle for binging the show on Netflix and soaking up throwback photos from the cast, like this one posted recently by Courteney:
What do U think Perezcious readers? Should they leave a good thing alone, or follow in the footsteps of shows like Beverly Hills: 90210 who are gearing up for a revival? Share your thoughts (below) in the comments!
