We’re so happy that these two co-collaborators are still keeping it amicable!
There were rumors going around that Jennifer Lawrence and director David O. Russell got into a screaming match on the set of Joy, but it gives us great joy to tell you that it was not actually a spat between the pair!
David was apparently getting J.Law pumped up for a fight scene and that their heated exchange was meant to bring out a certain performance he wanted, according to a Fox 2000 rep:
“David’s process is, when they yell rolling, he will repeat the line in the tone he wants.”
Well, phew!
In case you were still in a little doubt, Katniss herself took to her infrequently used social media account to tackle the story herself.
Here’s what Jennifer posted the following message on her Facebook page to clear up the rumor:
“Hey guys!
It’s Jen! I know I don’t go on here a lot because I can barely work email but there’s been a terrible rumor going around the last 24 hours so I wanted to clear it up.
David O. Russell is one of my closest friends and we have an amazing collaborative working relationship. I adore this man and he does not deserve this tabloid malarkey. This movie is going great and I’m having a blast making it!”
Well, we absolutely cannot wait to see this film! We’re so glad that everything is still
