Jennifer Lawrence's One 'Bridezilla' Moment So Far Involved A Defunct Bachelorette Party & ...Ghosts?

Jennifer Lawrence's one bridezilla moment

Jennifer Lawrence is SO ready to be a Maroney!
The 28-year-old sat down with Catt Sadler for her podcast, NAKED with Catt Sadler, where she spilled the tea on how planning her wedding to art dealer Cooke Maroney was going.
For those who forgot, the actress got engaged to the gallerist in February and celebrated her engagement party in May. Overall, the A-lister said she’s feeling characteristically *whatever* about planning her upcoming nuptials — she’s too lazy to be neurotic about it, she joked — and has already locked down her wedding dress and venue.
But not even the easy, breezy Oscar-winner could avoid having one bridezilla moment — and it came from a typical J.Law scenario.

As the Red Sparrow star explained, she thought she didn’t want to have a bachelorette party, but changed her mind at the last minute (like we said, typical J.Law) — and, unfortunately, none of her friends were available to go.
She explained with a laugh:

“It was too last-minute. People travel. They’re, like, out of town. I had, like, one friend that could make it. … I didn’t realize that I wanted it until yesterday, until I realized I couldn’t have it, which is typical. My friend was like, ‘Welcome to being a bride.’ I’ve cried, I’ve officially joined the club.”

Realizing she couldn’t have the bachelorette party she never really wanted made the star break down in tears in front of her future husband — which opened the floodgates for other, more supernatural issues that were on her mind.
She recalled telling her fiancé:

“Then I was like, ‘Maybe I’m just nervous about going to New Orleans because I haven’t been away from you for a while and you know how many ghost stories they have… And I’ll be in New Orleans, and you won’t be around if I get scared by a ghost and you’re not there.’ He was like, ‘Babe, we’ve gone from bachelorette to ghosts.’ I don’t know. I was like, ‘Just get me a beer.’ That was my one moment.”

Ha!

Thankfully, Lawrence is rescheduling her bachelorette party for a time when her friends can actually make it — though she’s yet to find a solution for any potential ghosts she encounters during her New Orleans trip. One step at a time, gurl.

Later in the interview, the Hunger Games alum talked about how life has been over the past year since she’s spent more time in New York — the city where she fell in love — rather than Hollywood, revealing:

“I feel like I got to know myself in the past year. You know, I met somebody, I fell in love and I started a new life in New York. It’s not as private as I would love for it to be, but I have been doing things that I didn’t actually think that I could.”

While the idea of going out like a regular person used to scare her, the mega star explained how that all changed once she started dating the love of her life.
She shared:

“I used to have a stigma about, you know, going to restaurants, or I felt like I couldn’t go to dive bars. There were just certain things, like, ‘Oh, I can’t do that.’ And then the past year, I’ve just been doing all of that. … Honestly, I was dating someone and I didn’t want to tell him about [it.] You know, I wanted to be normal and cool, so I just kind of hid that part of me and it ended up being fine. … It was cool.”

Lawrence went on to describe the development of her relationship with Cooke as “organic,” noting that she knew she was ready to walk down the aisle shortly after meeting him:

“I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. … Cooke is the greatest human being I’ve ever met, he really is. And he gets better. I know that sounds really stupid, but he is the greatest person I’ve ever met. I feel very honored to be a Maroney.”

That’s right. Lawrence is very much planning on changing her last name to his — which means we can technically start calling her Jenna Maroney.

The future Mrs. Maroney added:

“We wanted to commit fully, and he’s my best friend. I want to legally bind him to me forever and, fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet, you’re like, ‘You can’t leave.’ So, I wanted to take up on that offer.”

Wow. The love is real!
So happy for the Maroneys!
