Jennifer Lopez‘s life hasn’t been the same since she split from Ben Affleck! And we’re not talking about her love life — but her finances!
A source spilled the tea to Radar Online on Monday, revealing that J.Lo has been living large like the A-lister she is… even as financial struggles grow bigger and bigger behind the scenes. The insider explained:
“Every month, she’ll drop hundreds of thousands on private jets, designer duds, spa days, you name it.”

But it’s not all just to spoil herself! She has a big team, including private chefs, all of whom are said to earn good salaries:
“She is extremely generous with everyone in her life.”
That’s nice to hear!
The source added:
“She’s worked hard for the right to live this way, so it would be doing herself a disservice if she didn’t enjoy all the fruits of her labor.”
Agreed!
Here’s the deal, though. It’s really no secret Jenny from the Block’s career hasn’t taken off the way she would’ve hoped over the past few years. She was hit with a “major financial setback” in 2024, the source noted, after her The Is Me… Now album and $20 million self-financed film flopped. She even had to cancel her tour, though she ultimately bounced back with a successful Vegas residency.
If that weren’t bad enough, she’s also stuck with the full financial burden of her and Ben Affleck‘s mansion! The home they purchased for $60 million in 2023 reportedly costs $284,000 a month to maintain. Despite lowering the price on the market several times, they’ve been unable to offload it. It’s become such a pain that Ben actually gave Jennifer his stake in the property in April, so now it’s all hers to deal with. Dang! The confidant shared:
“The Beverly Hills place has become a monumental pain for J.Lo. It started out as the house of her dreams but is now a metaphorical noose around her neck and the embodiment of a money pit.”
While she “loves the property itself, the outgoings make it a real burden, and it’s reached the point that she’s feeling totally cursed.”
Oof. It’s also just too painful for the 56-year-old to think of keeping, the confidant pointed out:
“There’s also the emotional pain she has to contend with since it serves as this constant reminder of what she and Ben once had and couldn’t hold onto.”
They noted:
“She’s tried to build new memories there, but it proved impossible.”
Ouch.
Now, obviously, there are a lot of other people in the world struggling a lot more financially than J.Lo. She still lives a VERY luxurious life, the source acknowledged:
“Jennifer is still an extremely wealthy individual who’s worth hundreds of millions on paper. But as far as cash flow and recent earnings go, it’s been a struggle.”
That said, the singer is savvy enough to do what she needs to dig herself out of her financial hole! And that’s where Brett Goldstein comes in. They may have shut down romance rumors — despite reportedly having a fling on set of their new film Office Romance — but either way, the leading lady is still leaning into the PDA that’s sparking so much media attention right now. The insider said:
“J.Lo is smart enough to know that playing things up for the cameras is only going to benefit the movie, so that’s her primary reason for this flirt-fest with Brett. But more than that, it does boost her ego and so it has that additional bonus.”
And after her latest divorce, well, a fake romance isn’t so bad:
“It’s safer for her to have a fake romance at this point than actually put herself out there for real with a partner. That’s another element that’s driven her to, along with the hype.”
What’s especially sad is that the mother of two thought she found her “happily ever after” with Ben:
“It still cuts deep for J.Lo that she and Ben couldn’t make things work. … She genuinely loved him, and as clichè as it may sound, no other guy has ever come close in her eyes.”
AWWW!
And no, it doesn’t help that he “dumped her” or that “he seems so much happier without her,” the source stressed. It’s all been “the ultimate blow” to her ego. Rough!
Hopefully she can bounce back soon — and sell that property!
