Jennifer Lopez has purchased a new mansion in the El Lay area — but it is SO far away from ex Ben Affleck that people are already starting to wonder whether she was very purposeful in choosing this new location!
So, as we’ve been reporting, Ben came out this week with new commentary about his ill-fated marriage to the Waiting For Tonight crooner. And in response?? J.Lo hightailed it the hell outta west LA!
Okay, so maybe the two things aren’t directly connected, to be fair. But when you start to hear about her motivations for moving, it’ll definitely make you wonder! Like, let’s BFFR!

On Wednesday morning, DailyMail.com published insight from a source who noted that the crooner’s new $21 million home is way up high in the Hidden Hills area of Los Angeles — and that’s extremely purposeful. To hear that insider tell it, the single momma to teenage twins Max and Emme is keen on getting out of Los Angeles proper and diving down deep into the quiet and quaint life of the ‘burbs:
“Jennifer wanted to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and have a more relaxed home life in Hidden Hills.”
Citing her twins specifically, the source went on to note that security in the gated community is the best you can imagine, which will put her mind at ease regarding her children:
“She bought a home in a gated community where there is security personnel and cameras everywhere, it’s extremely safe. This way she doesn’t have to worry if Max rides his bicycle down a street or if Emme goes for a walk with a friend.”
Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s got a series of high-profile new neighbors, too. The list includes Kim Kardashian, her sis Khloé, her other half-sis Kylie Jenner, and KarJenner family momager Kris, to boot. Clearly, Hidden Hills is where it’s at! Can’t hate that part!
But here’s the thing: when you factor in the endless El Lay traffic, J.Lo’s new Hidden Hills house is over an hour away from Ben’s Brentwood digs. Which begs the question: is she trying to completely ditch her ex??? Especially since Affleck specifically chose to remain down in west El Lay proper so he can be close to the kids he shares with ex Jennifer Garner???
The source insisted:
“It has nothing to do with getting away from Ben and his family and Jennifer [Garner] and their kids. She is OK with them. It is about being in a more relaxed environment.”
Hmmm…
FWIW, J.Lo has lived in this area before — in 2001, when she owned a house in Calabasas during her brief marriage to dancer Cris Judd.

Regardless, we know Lopez has been looking for the perfect forever home for quite a while now. We just can’t help but wonder if getting far away from Ben (while still living in the El Lay area) wasn’t at least kinda purposeful. Ya know?!
