Jerry Falwell Jr. Quotes Martin Luther King Jr. In Response To Resigning Over Kinky Sex Scandal!

Jerry Falwell Jr. says he isn’t upset he had to step down as president from Liberty University over a kinky sex scandal involving a Miami pool boy who claimed the evangelist leader liked to watch him have sex with his wife. Apparently, he’s walking on cloud nine — and feeling like Martin Luther King Jr. of all people!

Days after claiming his wife Becki and now-29-year-old Giancarlo Granda had an extramarital affair he had “no involvement” with, the 58-year-old told a local newspaper in Lynchburg, Virginia he was relieved to leave his post at the school before comparing himself to the civil rights hero.

He said:

“It’s a relief. The quote that keeps going through my mind this morning is Martin Luther King Jr.: ‘free at last, free at last, thank God almighty I’m free at last.’”

SERIOUSLY?! MLK was speaking about the utopian future in which Black children were no longer oppressed, and all the races lived united… and this crooked evangelist thought his plight of being forced to resign — after being accused of sending nude photos of his wife to co-workers and misappropriating funds — was at all similar?!?

Those scandals of course have been dwarfed by the couple’s “pool boy” going public with their affair this week.

In a new interview with Politico, Giancarlo recounted the first time he met Becki, who picked him up by a hotel pool in 2012, when he was 20 and she was 44. He claimed:

“During my work shift at the Fontainebleau Hotel in March 2012, I was chatting with some girls my age (20 at the time). Becki said, ‘Those girls don’t know what they’re doing, you need someone with more experience.’”

According to Giancarlo, the pair went back to her hotel room at her suggestion when Jerry came out. He said:

“She goes, ‘But one thing.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay.’ And she’s like, ‘My husband likes to watch.’ And just then he comes out and he’s wearing a Speedo.”

Innerestingly enough, Granda also notes the timing of the couple trying to extricated themselves from him — which coincided with the campaign and election of Donald Trump. See, Falwell was the first evangelical leader to embrace the disreputable hotel magnate, who was not a clear choice for Christians even before we learned of the affairs, the hush money, the charity scams, etc etc etc.

But Falwell loudly supported Trump, and the rest of the evangelicals followed suit. Granda explained to Politico:

“Jerry Falwell Jr. admired Trump’s strongman public persona. Also, there was a noticeable personality change after Trump was elected. He was drunk on power and felt like he could get away with anything.”

That does seem to match with Falwell’s behavior suddenly getting him into trouble the past couple years.

Granda believes Falwell’s planned entry into the political arena is what ultimately caused him to distance himself from the hot cuckold action he loved so much.

We should note: there isn’t anything wrong with the a couple being into pool boy cuckolding — we don’t kink shame here. However it’s the fact he’s also a man who spent most of his life actively judging and hurting LGBTQ people, placing himself as a pious arbiter of which sexual activity was approved by god and which should be persecuted by governments.

In 2013, the evangelist said he didn’t want Liberty U to receive federal government aid if it meant having to sign up for anti-LGBTQ discrimination rules. He also gave a supportive quote for a book about a man who allegedly “gave up homosexuality for God” by saying:

“If ever a story needed to be told, this one does. Jonathan’s frank and fearless testimony will serve to offer hope to those struggling with this sin and understanding for the rest of us.”

Well, we guess Jerry wasn’t struggling with his own sinful nature. He’s just denying it!

The father-of-three gave his own version of events, in which he totally threw his wife under the bus, claiming she started having “an inappropriate personal relationship” with Granda, something he notes he “was not involved” in and had no knowledge of. Oh, but don’t worry, he’s forgiven her. Ick.

Falwell also called Granda’s claims “90 percent false” (!?) and said he stepped down from Liberty not because of the sex scandal, but because he was “starting to get bored.” He told The Washington Post:

“I’ve accomplished all I can accomplish and I want to move on. I was starting to get bored.”
