Jessica Simpson has us worried again about her marriage to Eric Johnson!
Earlier this year, the couple sparked breakup rumors when the 44-year-old singer had not been wearing her wedding ring in several pictures on social media. What caused further concern? At that point, she also had not posted a photo with her hubby on her grid since September 2023. Not even a tribute to Eric for Valentine’s Day! Yikes! Based on the evidence at the time, fans could not help but worry that the couple called it quits!
Thankfully, we all could breathe a sigh of relief as TMZ later reported that the two went out to dinner for a romantic Valentine’s Day date at the Ivy At The Shore restaurant in Santa Monica. Eyewitnesses even said they looked “totally normal” and happy together. Phew! All seemed well between Jessica and Eric! No need to panic, right? However, flash forward to this week, and we are concerned about these two again!

You see, The Dukes of Hazzard star took to Instagram on Wednesday to share pics of her and their children — 12-year-old daughter Maxwell, 11-year-old son Ace, and 5-year-old daughter Birdie — on their first day back to school. Guess who AND what is noticeably missing from the post, though! First off, Eric is nowhere to be found in these images! One social media user even asked in the comments:
“Where is the daddy?”
To which someone replied:
“He’s the guy taking the picture.”
You can see a person wearing glasses in the window behind Jessica and the kids snapping the picture. But it is hard to tell if that is Eric or not. If you ask us, we doubt it is the athlete. So, for all we know, he may not have been present to send the kiddos off to school.
Of course, parents aren’t always there for the first day. The former football player could have missed it for a number of reasons, like work or other commitments. However, his absence still raises alarm bells — especially when paired with this next part: Jessica ditched her wedding ring in the photos, too!!

Fueling the split speculation? If you take a look at her Instagram, she has not shared a picture with Eric since April. Jessica didn’t even mark their tenth wedding anniversary in July! See their last photos together from MONTHS ago (below):
What is going on??! Of course, spouses don’t always post their significant other on the ‘gram or wear their wedding ring. There still could be nothing wrong between Jessica and Eric! But it is suspicious how much we’ve seen her without her ring this year!
