Jessica Simpson's First New Song After Eric Johnson Breakup Is Here! It's SO COUNTRY!

The new era of Jessica Simpson has begun!

Following her breakup with husband Eric Johnson, the 44-year-old singer finally dropped new music for the first time in 15 years this week! On Friday, Jessica released a new single called Use My Heart Against Me. Don’t expect a full-on pop record — it’s very much a country track!

It also sounds like Jessica may have given fans some insight into the end of her marriage because the chorus features lyrics like:

“Go on / Use my heart against me / Double down like I’m your whisky / Drink me in until you’re tipsy / One and done / On the run / Restless soul / Rattle the reverb / Holy Ghost of a believer / I’m the key and you’re the keeper / Here I come / Here I come / Don’t misuse / Don’t confuse / My love.”

“Double down like I’m your whisky / Drink me in until you’re tipsy.” Whoa! Could this be about Eric? We have heard he liked to party, even though Jess is sober, and allegedly flirted with other women at bars but got caught. Hmm.

We are so excited for Jessica and can’t wait to hear more from her! Her EP Nashville Canyon, Part 1 drops on March 21!
