It looks like Jessica Simpson really is heading toward a divorce!
The singer shocked fans on Monday when she posted a cryptic Instagram carousel hinting at a split from her husband Eric Johnson. While neither half of the couple has commented on the speculation yet, TMZ learned on Tuesday that two people directly connected to Jessica have spoken to two different divorce lawyers in the last two months about her marriage. Oof.

Sources told the outlet that late last month, someone close to the fashion designer hit up an LA divorce attorney, revealing that Jessica was unhappy in her relationship. The person wanted to set up a meeting between the actress and the lawyer. It’s unclear if this was done per Jessica’s request, and she has not made any contact with that lawyer at this point. Hmm.
Interestingly, the celeb’s team also contacted another LA-based divorce lawyer regarding divorce-related matters, but there has been no follow-through either. But they’re putting feelers out there, that’s not nothing! It certainly suggests the pair have hit a rough patch, though nothing has been set in stone yet.
This comes months after the 44-year-old stopped posting photos with Eric and wearing her wedding ring. They have been married for 10 years and share three kids, Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, 12, Ace Knute, 11, and Birdie Mae, 5. Kids certainly make a divorce tricky, so we could easily see that being one reason to chat with these legal professionals — but we wonder why Jessica hasn’t actually gone to any meetings?? Were they just not the right lawyers? Or has she not made up her mind yet?
