Probably, but not for the reasons you might think.
With a successful show on E! and a bound to be hit reality show coming to WeTV, Joan Rivers may be too busy to get back to her gig as a red carpet correspondent.
But according to her, that’s not why she isn’t willing to do it anymore. While being interviewed with her daughter, Melissa Rivers, about their new reality show, Joan explained her stance against the red carpets these days, explaining:
“It’s not fun. Five years ago, you could say ‘Julia Roberts, I hate your dress,’ and she’d laugh. But now these publicists will kill you and say, ‘You won’t get the next six people!’”
Shockingly, Melissa agreed with her mother, calling the whole system “too controlled” to be interesting. She added:
├óΓé¼┼ôThere are a few sort of paradigms shifts would change it significantly. Unfortunately, it would be such an expensive undertaking and E! is doing fine with Ryan [Seacrest]…├óΓé¼┬¥
We do miss the good ole days when you ladies tore up the carpet with your mother-daughter shenanigans. It did seem to be a lot more fun back then.
Oh well. Guess we’ll just have to watch the new show to get a fix of you ladies! We seriously can’t wait.
