President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of cancer.
On Sunday night, a statement from the 82-year-old’s personal office revealed on Friday he was “diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.” The statement to CNN noted this was discovered after he “was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms.” It continued:
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”

Joe and his family are now “reviewing treatment options with his physicians.” On Monday, Joe and his wife Jill shared a selfie with their cat on Instagram, as Joe shared his own thoughts on the diagnosis, writing in the caption:
“Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”
It’s very upsetting news, and the political community — no matter what side they’re on — is sharing their well-wishes to the former POTUS.
Perhaps most surprising was a message of support from current Prez Donald Trump. Despite ridiculing Joe’s health and age during the presidential campaign, POTUS took to his platform Truth Social on Sunday night to wish the Democrat well on his treatment journey:
“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis.”
He continued:
“We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”
Whoa. Says a lot when his former rival is being nice…
His former VP Kamala Harris also shared a photo alongside her colleague, expressing:
“Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time. Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.”

And President Barack Obama, who worked with Joe for many years in the White House, acknowledged the difficult health update, penning:
“Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery.”
The Bidens share one daughter Ashley, and Joe is also dad to kids Naomi, Hunter, and his late son Beau with his late first wife Neilia. We’re sure this has been a very hard week for the whole family and all of the politician’s loved ones. We’re sending him positive vibes as he embarks on this health battle.
