A lot of people know Joey McIntyre for his music, but did you know he’s also quite the athlete?
In fact, he’s no New Kid On The Block when it comes to running, as he ran in the Boston Marathon this weekend for the second year in a row after finishing just five minutes before the fatal bombings took place last year.
As a Boston native, Joey was excited to return to his hometown to race and wrote an entry in his blog, saying:
“My heart keeps growing for this town. It├óΓé¼Γäós such a privilege to be a part of this town. This race. This comeback. This home.
Thank for helping me get here.”
Not only did Joey finish the race, but he finished with a VERY impressive time of 3 hours and 48 minutes!!
He wasn’t alone either, as his fellow bandmate Danny Wood was right behind him, finishing the race just 2 minutes later!
We’re so proud of these two for finishing the marathon, and based on their impressive times this probably wont be the last time we see them running! Congrats, guys!
