John Cena likes to keep in contact with people from his past… even if that means they’re family members of his exes!
The wrestling legend apparently keeps in touch with ex Nikki Bella‘s grandmother — according to the Total Divas star herself, who appeared to think it was sweet, but was also a little amused by the whole thing!

The 35-year-old Bella revealed Cena’s habits on Saturday in an interview with Us Weekly, saying (below):
“I love it. He’s so good to my grandmother, it’s amazing. [He’s] in touch with a lot of the family. My exes, they keep in touch with my family. They talk to my family but not to me.”
Haha! Awww! That is very cute!!!
Nikki opened up more about that open communication with her exes — John included — by adding (below):
“I’m, like, a very spiritual person so I think the majority of my boyfriends ended up being my friends because I always felt like even though you’ve had a breakup, you’ve had this strong connection with someone in your life, why not keep them in your life? Like, I’ve never had an issue with that and vice versa, like I love it because it’s like I spent so long with that person and they gave me so much and I gave them so much so I love how they’re still in contact with my family.”
Awww!!! She makes a lot of sense saying all that… of course, it takes quite an adult to do that, too! Maturity doesn’t come easy for most, so no wonder we think Nikki’s take on this is so great — and so unique!
But still… isn’t it a little weird that Cena is so close with Nikki’s grandmother? We’re not knocking it. Just saying it’s not particularly normal!!
A Close-Knit Pair
As you’ll no doubt recall, Cena and Bella dated for about six years — and nearly got married — before eventually calling it all off and ending their engagement in April 2018. Bella has since moved on to spend her time with her former Dancing With the Stars partner, Artem Chigvintsev. But obviously, the two longtime partners and more recent exes are on extremely good terms still… and we couldn’t be happier about that!
