Wow.
Christian Dior designer John Galliano was arrested Thursday night after hurling anti-semitic insults at a couple in a Parisian bar.
According to a police source:
“We arrived extremely quickly and managed to break up the disturbance. The man involved was briefly arrested and then released pending charges for assault. Witnesses said he swore heavily, using anti-Jewish insults, before attacking a couple. Both have provided witness statements, as have a number of other people at the bar, including staff.”
The source added John would be facing criminal charges and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Following his arrest, Chief Executive Sidney Toledano released a statement, saying Galliano would be suspended of his responsibilities pending an inquiry.
