How John Mayer Feels About Ex-Girlfriend Katy Perry's Pregnancy

John Mayer couldn’t be happier for his pregnant ex-girlfriend Katy Perry!

According to an Us Weekly source, the Waiting on the World to Change singer is nothing but excited for his ex as she prepares to welcome her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom.

The insider dished:

“John is happy for Katy and wishes her the best. They don’t keep in touch that much.”

As fans know, Katy Kat dated Mayer on an off from 2012 to 2015 before she moved on with the Pirates of the Caribbean star in January 2016.

Mayer wrote the song Still Feel Like Your Man after their breakup, and confirmed to The New York Times in 2017 that their romance was indeed the inspo behind the tune. He said:

“Who else would I be thinking about? And by the way, it’s a testament to the fact that I have not dated a lot of people in the last five, six years. That was my only relationship. So it’s like, give me this, people.”

Johnny boy hasn’t been linked to anyone since his relationship with the pop star. Katy, on the other hand, has enjoyed quite the epic romance with Bloom: they broke up in February 2017, but stayed amicable throughout their split before rekindling the romance five months later in August. During their break, however, Katy made an interesting revelation to James Corden during a “Spill Your Guts” segment when she was asked to rank her ex-boyfriends in order of worst to best in bed: Orlando fell in the middle, while Mayer was the best.

That didn’t matter, though! Bloom and Perry got engaged in February 2019 during a Valentine’s Day helicopter ride and are expecting their first child together this summer. After announcing her pregnancy last week by debuting her baby bump in her Never Worn White music video, the Grammy nominee told fans on Instagram Live:

“I am excited. We’re excited and happy. It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I like to tell you guys everything, but I knew I would tell you in the best way, which was through a piece of music because that’s how I speak to you.”
