We are even bigger fans of John Stamos after hearing about his recent do-gooder moment.
Uncle Jesse stopped by the hospital room of a VERY special girl named Kaitlyn Dobrow who almost lost her life to a deadly bacterial meningitis infection.
The teen finished up work at a Day’s Inn in Huntington Beach, then went to workout at the gym with a friend.
She was woken up from her sleep with a headache and nasuea, and by the middle of the night she had marks on her skin and was in lots of pain.
Kaitlyn’s mom called an ambulance, and once diagnosed with a deadly form of meningitis, she had her legs and arms amputated.
She had been asleep after arriving at the hospital, and when she awoke, her limbs were gone. Her dad said:
“Initially, she cried when she learned about her limbs. But the following day she said this is something I’ll find a way to make work, and joked, ‘Who needs a left arm anyway?’”
THAT is bravery!
The over $1 million in hospital costs were covered by her father’s insurance, but after the family leaves, they’ll need some financial help via a fundraiser they’ve set up online.
So, when Mr. Stamos stopped by to give his support, he posted this pic (above) and said:
├óΓé¼┼ôI’m ONLY doing this cause they asked. I said no press. but this story is a must read- plus me and katie have a date to Disneyland.├óΓé¼┬¥
The more we hear about Katie, the more blown away we are at her courage.
Extremely painful skin grafts are still being done, but the good news is that Katie is going to live, AND she gets a date with John Stamos!
We are truly inspired by her and hope you are too!
