Johnny Weir is busy!
The 26-year-old figure skater is filling all of his time with TV judging spots, recording dance tracks, and writing books (his memoir Welcome to My World comes out tomorrow).
He recently sat down for an interview to talk about past relationships, skating, and sex.
On Evan Lysacek
“We don’t talk, we don’t have a relationship. After skating, he has no value in my life. I never made an effort to get to know him, he’s never made an effort to get to know me. Some harsh words were thrown around throughout the years, some of it has gotten really catty. I wish there were some things I could take back. But everything is said for a reason and I really think that America has really accepted me.”
On life without skating
“I’d still be living in Pennsylvania where I grew up and probably working a middle-management job somewhere or milking cows.”
On sex
“People say I’m ashamed of myself for not talking about my sexuality, but I’m not scared of anyone and I’m not ashamed of anything that is Johnny Weir. I refuse to be placed in a box . I think so little of my sex life and my sexual identity simply because I don’t have time to have sex and secondly, because I don’t think it defines who I am. I didn’t choose a sexuality just as I didn’t choose to be white.”
