If you tuned in to any of the 2014 Sochi Olympics, you know that the best team hands down was Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski in the broadcast booth during figure skating events!
Well even though the winter games have come and gone, the dynamic duo aren’t done with each other quite yet!!
Tara and Johnny’s chemistry was so strong that they will continue to hit the broadcast booth together, and not just for ice skating! In fact, their next destination will be Hollywood where they’ll be critiquing fashion on the red carpet at the Oscars!
Johnny say’s they’re definitely excited for their next project together:
“We already have people pulling clothes. We’re going to be ready. And we’re going to bring it.”
Considering his outfits were one of the major talking points of the Sochi games, we can’t think of anyone better for this job!!
While both Tara and Johnny were rookies as commentators, they said they were both thrilled with the responses they got from the audience, and he says they’re hoping to keep that momentum going:
“People were tuning into a cable network and spending an entire event with us. They were sneaking us at work. That’s our biggest thrill, that people decided to spend their time with us and to hear figure skating from us and let us teach them what we know… We love what we’ve done here. It’s been such an eye-opening, wonderful and happy experience for us. We hope to be in America’s living rooms for a long time to come.”
We hope so too!!
Tara and Johnny definitely proved to be a match made in heaven in Sochi, and we can’t wait to see how they do on their very first time on the red carpet! Good luck, you two!!
