Because it sounds as though HBO is planning to take Queer As Folk, combine it with the new generation of humor and insight currently being cultivated in the network’s new darling, Girls, and throw in our beloved Jonathan Groff for some much-needed SEXINESS!
What does that all mean?
A brand new pilot in development starring the former Glee heartthrob about a group of 30-something gay friends living in San Francisco!
According to reports, Jonathan will portray Patrick, a successful video game developer struggling to find love, as well as grappling with the societal clusterf-ck we all know as modern-day life. Frankie Alvarez has also been cast as his best friend Augustin, an artist’s assistant with an ego that keeps him from being able to completely settle down with his man, while Sarah Condon and David Marshall Grant are behind the development with Michael Lannan serving as writer!
And frankly, that’s all we really need to hear!
It’s about time we got a series like this back on premium cable, and we think that with such serious creative talent helping it come to fruition, this could be something not only well-made, but VERY culturally significant!
Not to mention possibly VERY nudity-heavy, like all of its HBO brothers and sisters!
