Joshua Jackson's Answer About The One Thing He'd Bring With Him To A Deserted Island Is SO SWEET!!

Joshua Jackson's Desert Island Answer Is SO SWEET

This was a smooth answer!

Joshua Jackson was at the premiere of his upcoming medical drama Doctor Odyssey on Wednesday when he spoke with People on the red carpet. Given that his new show takes place on a luxury cruise ship, the outlet had to ask him what would be the one thing he would bring with him if he were stranded at sea and cast off to a deserted island. He joked:

“You’re talking about Castaway style?”

He then gave the sweetest answer — well, depending on how you interpret it. He remarked:

“Well, I’d bring my daughter.”

Dooming his daughter to a life at sea?? We know how that sounds — not exactly the ideal situation, right? Poor girl! Ha!

But when referring to his 4-year-old daughter Juno, whom he shares with his ex-wife Jodie Turner-Smith, it’s clear the Fringe alum would only want her with him because he loves her so much!

Acknowledging that Juno isn’t a fan of boats, he explained his reasoning by sharing:

“I’d miss her if I was stuck on the boat. And I’d like to think she would miss me too.”

Stop! That’s so cute!!!

The 46-year-old and his little girl clearly have such a strong bond! As you may recall, back on Sunday at the Walt Disney Company‘s Emmy Awards celebration, he also told People that he has stayed looking so young thanks to his child! The actor teased:

“I think it’s chasing around a 4-year-old. I think that it keeps you young. The gray hair might tell you a little different.”

As for things they like to do together, he said they enjoy going to the park as well as hanging out at home and doing arts and crafts. He gushed:

“She’s just awesome. She’s just the most fun in the world.”

Love it!

BTW, after Jodie and Joshua’s divorce last year, the actor agreed to joint physical and legal custody of the little girl with neither parent paying child support. The Dawson’s Creek alum quickly moved on with Lupita Nyong’o. In June, Jodie told The Cut that she wasn’t bothered by the romance, explaining, “We need happiness in order to peacefully co-parent.” She added:

“I truly hope they’re happy and that it benefits us as a family. […] I just have to do everything that I can to set Juno up to win and to peacefully co-parent with someone whom I once loved very, very much. Peace is what’s needed right now. Grace is what’s needed right now. Love, empathy, compassion. I’m trying to be all those things and have faith that when I’m all those things, I will see that reflected back toward me.”

What a mature perspective! From the sounds of it, they are navigating this new chapter of their family’s life so well!
